PIC Properties is a division of the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), which manages the property investment portfolio on behalf of PIC clients.
In the past 11 years, the portfolio has grown significantly in size, quality and geographical diversity. We manage property assets consisting mainly of high-quality retail, offices and industrial properties in prominent locations throughout South Africa. We also invest in specialised assets according to specific needs of clients.
The PIC offering to clients includes property asset management, property development and new property acquisitions.
The main clients of PIC Properties are the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF), the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) and the Compensation Commissioner Fund (CC).
Our investment philosophy is to invest directly on our own or co-invest with other like-minded investors especially those who support our transformation and empowerment journey.
In the property portfolio, there are a number of companies in which PIC Properties invests in, these include:
- Pareto Limited, which owns premier shopping centres around the country, including Menlyn Shopping Centre, Cresta Shopping Centre, The Pavilion, the majority of Tyger Valley Centre and part of Westgate and Southgate Shopping Centre as well as Minosa.
- V&A Waterfront, a premier shopping mall, office park and hotel destination in the Western Cape.
- Airports Company South Africa, which owns and manages National and International airports in the African continent, including OR Tambo International Airport, Cape Town International Airport and King Shaka International Airport.
PIC Properties is a member of the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA), the South African Property Owners Association (SAPOA), the South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC) and the South African Institute of Black Property Practitioners (SAIBPP). PIC Properties also subscribes to the commitments of property sector charter.
