Description
The PIC GDP seeks to equip young graduates with knowledge of, skills in, and exposure to the Asset and Investment management in general, and the role of the PIC in the economy. The programme is structured and specifically designed to produce a pipeline of competent investment professionals for the PIC and country, and transform the asset management space.

Format
Graduates are given an opportunity to learn and work in the PIC, under the supervision of a dedicated mentor. Graduates are assigned to a division, based on their qualifications and career aspirations, and exposed to various competency based roles during their two year training. Graduate also attend various technical and soft skills training programmes to augment their programme.

  • Two year internship

  • South African citizen
  • Completed or about to complete an under or post- graduate Degree
  • Have attained 60% pass rate in all final year subjects/modules
  • Strong desire to work in financial services (asset and investment management)
  • Proven record of academic excellence
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

About the programme
The aim of the PIC SAICA CA Training programme is to address the shortage of Chartered Accountants in the country, and increase the pool of accounting professionals pipeline within the PIC. The trainees follow the SAICA accredited training programmes, and given specialist training to allow them to qualify as Chartered Accountants CA(SA).

The PIC CA Trainees on the programme will acquire technical and professional competencies as prescribed in the SAICA CA training programme and PIC business:

Students who have recently obtained their CTA and looking for an opportunity to complete articles in order to become a CA

Prerequisite
Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA)

Three Years

Format
Students will be under the overall supervision of a Training Officer who is a qualified CA, who will provide guidance, mentorship, and support throughout the three year training programme.[/column]
